About

My love for people, medicine and health started from a very young age. In nursery school, when one of my classmates injured themselves, I would always run towards the accident, not away, like most of the other children. As I became older this interest in medicine only grew stronger and in my matric year, I applied to study medicine at various institutions in South Africa. To my disappointment, I was not accepted into a medical degree and so my nine-year academic journey started.
I completed a BSc: Medical Sciences degree, as well as an Honours degree in human anatomy, at the University of Pretoria. I had almost given up the dream of becoming a doctor when I was accepted to study medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2015.
After graduating in 2018, I completed a two-year internship at Tygerberg Hospital in the Western Cape. From there I went on to do one year of community service at Phumelela Hospital in a small town in the Free State, called Vrede, where I currently work as a general practitioner.
I have an absolute passion for the science of medicine and for people. My goal is to have a personal relationship with all my patients, to provide a space where patients can talk freely about health in all forms and to always be patient and caring while providing the best management.
